On each table there was a table name, my table was called Lord Nelson & Lady Hamilton, I like to think it was a fitting name ;)
some of the other tables were called John & Yoko, Monica & Chandler, Kate & William, Mark Anthony & Cleopatra, Romeo & Juliet
and at each place setting there was a card.

This charity is very close to our hearts, as my aunty, Marks mother, died from breast cancer 10 years ago.

as you can see in this picture the head table was called Eileen & David in memory of Marks parents. (As well as the loss of his mum ten years ago, his dad (my uncle) died last year.) It was such a lovely way to include them in the celebrations.
Finally after 12 years together my cousin, Mark and his fiance, Leanne, got hitched yesterday. As far as I am aware there were no hic-cups and everything ran according to plan. I thought I'd share a few photo's on here with you.

Well the Olympics have finished and I have to find something else to do with my time, well ... until the Paralympics start that is.
I've missed all the euphoria that we experienced with London 2012, I've missed the passion, the togetherness, oh and the sport. I loved every minute of it.
Now I am looking forward to the next stage of this tournament.
For whatever reason, unbeknown to me, there is nowhere near the same amount of media coverage as for the last couple of weeks. All the 24 designated Olympic channels have gone from our TV's and, as far as I am aware, we are left with channel 4 to follow our Olympians on. I may be wrong there may be another channel as well, but significantly less than before.
It is such a shame as ticket sales has shot through the roof, which proves there is the interest in watching these games.
I don't understand why the two Olympic tournaments are not held at the same time, or one immediately follow the other. The Olympic flame has gone,
the Olympic rings have gone from Tower Bridge and the Olympic flag is now in Brazil and yet, as far as I am concerned the Olympics London 2012 has not finished yet.
So roll on 29 Aug - 9 Sept for we have more medals to win.
I've not had time for blogs this past week, something far more time consuming has taken my interest.
Does it really need spelling out.
I love sport, I am very, very patriotic and am absolutely glued to The Olympics. So my dilemma has been which sport to tune in to. My most favourite are Rowing, Sailing & Cycling and these events have been taking place, pretty much every day, at the same time.
Then last night I was wanting to watch GB v S. Korea in the mens football, Greg Rutherford in the long jump, Jessica Ennis in the heptathlon, Mo Farrah in the 10,000 meters track. How was I going to manage this.
Last night I watched the football on the tv, the long jump on the BBC website, the heptathlon in a pop out media player and the 10,000 meters on my phone. I don't know how I have managed to watch previous Olympics, I know I've been as glued to them as this one, I suppose I was content to watch the high-lights when I couldn't watch the action live.
On Thursday night I even had a Liverpool football match to keep tabs on too, I had to make do with the LFC website audio commentary for that but that was ok, I know the style LFC play and I know the players like the back of my hand so was very easy to picture what was happening.
So far, this 2012 Olympics has been amazing. We've got Gold in the Men's cycling individual time trial, congratulations to Bradley Wiggins, as well as bronze, well done Chris Froome.
One silver and two bronze medals have so far been won in the pool. Congratulations to Michael Jamieson on winning his silver medal in the Men's 200m Breaststroke
The competition is not over yet, will we see Ben Ainslie win yet another gold in the sailing? are there more to come in the Velodrome? Will Tom Daley win Olympic gold in the diving? Will we get the gold in the BMX cycling that we hoped to get in Beijing? We're guaranteed 2 medals in the tennis with Andy Murray in the singles final and Andy again in the mixed doubles final with Laura Robson. So many more opportunities & all so exciting.

Congratulations to GB's Jade Jones on winning gold in the women's taeqwondo-57kg class.
And the medals, they just keep on coming, only a few days to go of the Olympics, London 2012 now and I'm not sure how many more medals team GBcan still win. We are still hoping for gold in the men's 10m diving with Tom Daley and we are guaranteed another 4 medals in the boxing. So ... fingers crossed we'll be cheering & singing/hearing God Save The Queen a few more times yet.

Well that's it for Team GB and medals, what an absolutely amazing achievement. Our goal was to win 48 medals, 1 more than in Beijing, the team have surpassed that with 65.
29 Golds, 17 Silvers & 19 Bronze. We finished third in
medal table after most successful Olympics for 104 years.

Well done and congratulations to all the athletes, it has been wonderful to watch. Now I've just got the closing ceremony to enjoy.
