Salon Treatments - Holistic Facial

Many treatments are offered in a Holistic & Beauty Salon so I thought I'd give a little insight into what some of these treatments are all about.

As my heart is in the Holistic side of this business I have decided to start with that, but firstly what does Holistic mean ... Holistic health is a concept in medical practice upholding that all aspects of people's needs, psychological, physical and social should be taken into account and seen as a whole.

Therefore all holistic treatments are actually treating the whole body on a physical & psychological level.

One of the most relaxing Holistic treatments I perform and equally love to receive is the Holistic Facial.

Looking good starts with great skin, and aromatherapy can help you achieve this in various ways. Holistic Facial is a massage using essential oils, and has the same principles as aromatherapy. The essential oils are so minute that they will get through the five layers of  skin and be carried around the body through circulation. Holistic Facial concentrates on the the upper body, neck, head and face. The remarkable penetrative properties of essential ils make them excellent moisturisers.

The facial skin is the most delicate skin on the body. Having a good cleansing routine and massage can really help the skin stay in good condition by cleansing and draining the lymph which filters out the waste products. Regular facial is also very good for keeping wrinkles at bay, by the massage techniques applied.

Having a professional facial treatment has so many therapeutic benefits. Our face is the 'front' that we present to the world, and it can only too clearly show all the tensions and stress in our lives. When we're tired, unhappy, run-down, stressed or ill, it shows in our faces. Holistic Facial is soothing and relaxing, and the results are amazing.  Wrinkles seem reduced and the skin appears rejuvenated, giving a much sought after 'instant face lift' without painful invasive surgery.

Introduce a Holistic Facial Massage into your daily life and you'll see the difference. The Aromatherapy oils, cleansers and toners have so many powerful benefits to help with all types and conditions.

For many this is a very soothing and relaxing treatment. A lot of tension can build up in the head, neck and face. The different techniques included in the massage help to remove congestion and release tension.

The face is cleansed, tones and gently scrubbed, then massaged, using essential oils to suit your skin type.
Three different forms of massage may be used. The European Method followed by Pressure Point and/or Lymph Drainage Massage.
A mask is applied to the face and left for 10 minutes during which time a short scalp massage is carried out.

A hydrating moisturiser finishes this facial treatment.

A Holistic Facial treatment lasts for about 45 minutes.
